The Nigeria Police Force’s Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, faced strong criticism from social media users for celebrating former and present indigenous Inspector Generals of Police.
Adejobi, in a recent post, praised the indigenous IGPs, saying, “Former and current indigenous IGPs in Nigeria. We celebrate you all (living and late). Ire oo..”
However, @HommiesDrey, an online user, expressed displeasure, calling them “Living and late Criminals from the most corrupt civil organization in the entire multiverse.”
In response, Adejobi raised concerns, stating, “You will repeat it with evidence soon. It’s a matter of time.”
@HommiesDrey also retorted, “If only the Multiverse exist. Will I have to provide evidence for that too? My personal opinion of a person or an organization is strictly based on my perception influenced by diverse experiences and data I’m exposed to, and lacing such expression with such beautiful Satire should be lauded for Creativity not bullied and threatened. Change my perception by new-lining your schemes.”
Other users who were uncomfortable with Adejobi’s assertion also voiced their opinions on the matter.
@Row_Haastrup noted, “But he didn’t lie now… Why the threat? Clean up your institution, please. Well done so far though”, adding the list of ex-IGPs who he claimed had been alleged of criminal activities including Tafa Balogun, Sunday Ehindero, Ibrahim Idris, Solomon Arase and Usman Alkali Baba.
@Ibrozilo, said, “Also Tafa Balogun, Abba Kyari, the list is inexhaustible, work on the organization so that people would have a changed mindset.”
@AjeboDanny, criticized Adejobi, saying, “Go and sit down. You didn’t tell Oluomo to repeat all he said during the election.”
@SavvyRinu, echoed similar sentiments, calling them “Living and late Criminals from the most corrupt civil organization in the entire multiverse.”
@chiditwewts042 questioned, “Did he lie or until we dig out all the secrets? We know amongst you policemen, there’s the ‘na who dem catch be thief’ mantra.”
@Walking_Trophy pointed out a double standard, stating, “you definitely have to conclude he was joking too, just as you concluded Mc Oluomo was joking. Or na only rich people Dey joke? Poor man no Dey joke Abi? And so now the police that was created to oppress and intimidate us? What a country! Police Dey guide rich celebrities with marijuana and he Dey smoke an for their front o, but if na poor man, dem go arrest am. THE LAWS IN MY COUNTRY NA FOR POOR MAN. ABI YOU NEED EVIDENCE TOO?”
