The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, has taken a mini-tour to Europe to visit injured and recuperating Super Eagles players, William Troost-Ekong, Moses Simon and Zaidu Sanusi.
Three players were part of the Super Eagles squad that reached the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, where they lost to the hosts in February.
Troost-Ekong played through the pain to help the Super Eagles to second position at the AFCON
The centre-back underwent surgery few days after the tournament.
The PAOK Salonica of Greece player has already returned to partial training and could still feature for his club before the end of the season.
Gusau was pictured with the 30-year-old PAOK Salonika centre-back in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Troost-Ekong was initially expected to miss the rest of the season he rekindled hope that he could still feature before the end of the current campaign.
Gusau conversed with Troost-Ekong on the significance of the Super Eagles upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin Republic.
The NFF boss was also in Portugal to see how well Porto defender, Zaidu Sanusi, is recovering from his injury.
Sanusi sustained the injury while in action for his club after returning from AFCON duty.
The NFF president equally visited another injured player, Moses Simon, in France last weekend.
Simon has also undergone surgery and been ruled out for the rest of the season, including Super Eagles’ World Cup qualifying matches in June.
