Federal Government has unveiled its plans to host the country’s first-ever international airshow, set to take place next year in Lagos.
The announcement, made by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, highlights Nigeria’s growing commitment to strengthening its aviation industry and positioning itself as a major player in Africa’s airspace.
During a press briefing at his Abuja office on Thursday, Keyamo elaborated on the vision behind the airshow, which aims to unite global leaders, aviation experts, and industry pioneers to explore and create fresh opportunities within Nigeria’s aviation sector.
“Our aspiration is clear: to position Nigeria as a central hub for aviation in Africa, one that will attract investment, foster partnerships, and drive sustainable development across the continent,” said Keyamo.
He emphasized that the event, being the first of its kind in Nigeria, marks a pivotal moment for both the country and the continent’s aviation landscape.
The Nigeria International Airshow is anticipated to attract participants and investors from around the globe, with a range of exhibitions, air displays, and conferences planned.
This high-profile gathering is set to offer networking avenues and showcase innovations in aviation technology, infrastructure, and sustainability, all while amplifying Nigeria’s appeal as an aviation gateway to Africa.
Keyamo expressed confidence that the airshow would pave the way for long-term growth, encouraging significant investments and strategic partnerships in the sector.
This landmark event signals a transformative phase for Nigeria, as the nation aims to establish itself as a central aviation hub for the African continent.
