A 46-year-old Nigerian man identified as Okechuwku Iweha was reportedly stabbed to death outside the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in the United Kingdom on Sunday.
Reports revealed that Iweha was found unresponsive at 05:51 BST in Northumberland Park in Haringey, north London, according to the Met Police, which has launched manhunt for the killer.
Police and paramedics were said to have been called to Northumberland Park on the outskirts of the stadium just before 6am, where Mr Iweha was found dead with a number of stab injuries.
It was learnt that CPR was administered but despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was gathered that formal identification is yet to be conducted, but the Met Police confirmed late last night they believe the man killed was Mr Iweha, who lived in the local area.
It was also said that his next of kin have now been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. A post-mortem examination will be held at Haringey Mortuary later this week.
Detectives investigating the murder have issued another plea for witnesses to come forward following the incident.
The UK police, Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, from the Specialist Crime Command, who is leading the investigation said, “I am urging anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to please come forward and speak with us.
“We are working hard to build a timeframe to establish what has happened. Were you woken up by a disturbance, or did you see anyone running from the area? I would ask that you check any private CCTV or dash cam footage to see whether you captured anything that might assist us.
“Another family has been left grieving and we are doing everything we can to find answers to their questions and locate whoever is responsible for this murder.’
Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, in charge of policing in Haringey, added,”Our thoughts remain with the family who are having to come to terms with his life being taken in such a violent way.
“I would like to reassure the local community that we are working around the clock to assist specialist detectives with their investigation.
“We are grateful to residents for their patience and understanding while we go about this crucial work. The crime scenes and forensic work will have caused disruption but it is imperative that we gather any evidence that might prove vital in leading to an arrest.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest went ahead as planned on Tuesday’s night but fans were asked to be patient due to road closures.
Spurs said they were doing their utmost to accommodate the investigation.

Taking to its X, Tottenham Hotspur wrote, “Following an incident in which an individual has lost their life, we are doing everything to accommodate the ongoing Police investigation, which is of the utmost importance.
“This afternoon’s Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest will go-ahead as scheduled, however the whole of Northumberland Park Road and Vicarage Road, as well as the north end of Worcester Avenue, will remain closed throughout.
“We shall update supporters as and when we can, and ask for fans to be patient and allow extra travel time. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and all those affected.”
