The Northern Elders Forum has announced Professor Abubakar Jika Jiddere as its newly appointed spokesperson, succeeding Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, who has transitioned to the role of director of NGOs and CSOs within the forum.
The appointment was approved by the convener and chairman of NEF’s Board of Trustees, Professor Ango Abdullahi, and disclosed in a statement issued by A.M. Al-Amin Daggash (Rtd), chairman of the forum’s Management Board.
In the announcement, the forum lauded Jiddere as a reputable scholar whose commitment and expertise align seamlessly with NEF’s aspirations for the advancement of Northern Nigeria.
In his acceptance speech, Jiddere expressed his gratitude and reaffirmed his dedication to the forum’s objectives.
“I humbly accept my appointment as the spokesperson of the Northern Elders Forum,” he stated.
“The Forum remains a non-partisan organisation committed to articulating the interests of Northern Nigeria while fostering unity and national development. I pray for Allah’s guidance as I undertake this responsibility,” Jiddere added.
The Northern Elders Forum extended its congratulations to Professor Jiddere, expressing confidence in his ability to steer the forum’s public communication with distinction.
