Rwanda forward, Innocent Nshuti, is aiming to inspire his national team to victory in their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
The talented striker, currently playing for One Knoxville, found the back of the net in Rwanda’s recent 1-1 draw with Libya, showcasing his importance to the squad.
Torsten Spittler’s team will welcome Nigeria to the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali on Tuesday for their crucial matchday two encounter.
With Rwanda looking to secure a spot in the AFCON tournament, Nshuti is determined to keep his scoring streak alive and help his country book their place in Morocco 2025.
Speaking to New Times, a Rwandan media outlet, Nshuti expressed his desire to maintain consistency, stating, “We have to keep doing the same. We did a brilliant job, a big game, and everyone is happy.”
The forward emphasized the importance of sustaining momentum in their upcoming fixtures, “We cannot keep going up and then down. We have to carry on and keep the momentum. We have many games coming and if we want to stay positive, we need to win more against our opponents.”
Nshuti, who has netted five goals in 19 appearances for the Rwandan national team, is hopeful of leading his side to their first AFCON finals appearance since 2004.
The East African nation last qualified for the tournament 20 years ago, and Nshuti’s goals will be key in their quest to return to the continental stage.
