Chippa United goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali is expected to be available for Super Eagles’ friendlies against Ghana and Mali later this month.
Nwabali was forced to leave the pitch during Chippa United’s 2-0 defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday after sustaining an injury.
The injury raised serious doubts on his availability for the friendlies against the Black Stars and Eagles of Mali.
A source very close to the Super Eagles shot stopper revealed that “The injury is not serious.”
This means Nwabali will be available for international duty.
The goalkeeper made an impressive performance for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.
The 27-year-old conceded thrice in seven appearances with the Super Eagles finishing in second position.
He has been called for the forthcoming matches against Ghana and Mali as part of preparations for crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin in June.
