Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has described Dr. Eruani Azibapu Godbless’ nomination for Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic national honour by the Federal Government as well deserved.
Obasanjo made this known in a statement released on Monday, titled: “Congratulations – 2022 National Honour Award”.
According to the former president, Godbless, 48, who is the President of Azikel Group will be the “youngest Nigerian to bag CFR.”
The letter reads: “I received, with delight, the news of your conferment with the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic, CFR, by the Federal Government of Nigeria under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Please permit me, on behalf of my family and on my behalf, to felicitate most heartily with you on yet another token of recognition for the worthy work you are doing in the service of our dear nation, Nigeria, and humanity at large.
“I also do not doubt that this recognition was to further appreciate the fact that a man of your position has the interest of the nation at heart by complementing the government’s efforts at generating and repositioning the nation for stability, growth, and sustained development, particularly through your private initiative of establishing the first private hydro-skimming refinery in Nigeria.” – The Nation.
He expressed hope that the refinery will be beneficial in achieving the nation’s target of reducing fuel importation and improving retail distribution across the country.
Obasanjo maintained that the refinery will eventually “move the nation closer to total independence from the importation of refining petroleum products.”
In a report by The Nation, he described the recipient as “a man with indelible records of integrity, probity, accountability, patriotism and an embodiment of professionalism.”
“My long association with you leaves me in no doubt that you have richly earned this honour. Even though you have received several honours and meritorious awards in the course of your numerous and meritorious contributions to our nation, I believe you are right to accord this honour the pride of place.
“And having been so recognised at this stage of your life and more so as the youngest Nigerian to bag CFR, you will no doubt appreciate that you have been so challenged to redouble your efforts in the service of the nation and humanity as a whole. You cannot rest on your oars.
“I pray that the Almighty Father will grant you many more years of useful service to the nation.”
