Bayo Ojulari has officially assumed office as the new Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, succeeding his predecessor, Mele Kyari.
The transition of leadership took place on Friday during a brief handover ceremony at the NNPC Towers in Abuja. The handover was confirmed in a statement by the NNPC Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Mr Olufemi Soneye.
Ojulari, in his remarks, expressed his appreciation for Kyari’s contributions to the growth and development of NNPC Ltd, acknowledging his predecessor’s exemplary service to the nation. He pledged to build on the achievements of the previous administration and steer the company to greater heights.
Ojulari acknowledged the substantial targets set for his management and emphasized the importance of collaboration to meet these goals. He noted that the success of his tenure would depend on the cooperation of the management and staff of NNPC Ltd, as well as the continued guidance from Kyari.
“I will be counting on your support. I will need it. I will be coming around to seek your counsel,” Ojulari told Kyari during the handover.
In his farewell speech, Kyari congratulated Ojulari on his new role and extended his gratitude to the management and staff of NNPC Ltd for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. He assured Ojulari of his full support, stating that he was always available to offer assistance whenever needed.
Kyari said, “I am only a call away,” highlighting his commitment to aiding the new leadership.
