The Governor-elect of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Fred Itua as his Chief Press Secretary.
Ituah’s engagement marks the first official appointment as Okpebholo prepares for his inauguration as the governor and take over from the outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki on Tuesday.
Itua, a seasoned journalist with prior roles at Leadership and The Sun newspapers, will manage the media and communication efforts for Okpebholo’s administration.
An accomplished professional in the field, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, a Master’s in Media Arts from the University of Abuja, and is nearing the completion of his PhD in Development Communication at Veritas University, Abuja.
With a journalism career that spans coverage of the National Assembly and expertise in migration, health, anti-corruption, and environmental reporting, Itua brings a well-rounded perspective to his new role.
Known for his commitment to continuous learning and cultural collaboration, he is expected to lead the media team of the new administration with an adaptable and innovative approach.
