The Ondo State Police command says it has begun investigation into the case of the FUTA student that committed suicide earlier today.
Spokesperson of the command, Funmilayo Odunlami in a phone interview said the police cannot ascertain for now why the student decided to take his life.
When asked if the police suspect any foul play, she replied ‘For now we can’t say that, “the police have commenced investigation; we believe some of the people around will also help us. Since it’s a case of suspected suicide, we just want to know one or two things, if he has been showing some sign of depression or anything.’
‘Sometimes you need to know what has actually caused it do that we can subsequently talk to people if there’s anything we can work on.
Odunlami however said the remains have been deposited in the mortuary.
It would be recalled that news made the rounds of One Mr Olona Oluwapelumi a 300level student of the Department of Industrial design allegedly committed suicide for reasons connected to depression and financial constraint.
