A tragic accident occurred along the Oru-Ijebu Igbo road in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State, when an unregistered Honda Accord collided with a motorcycle, resulting in one fatality.
According to The PUNCH, in a statement released on Sunday by the spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, The incident took place around 8 pm on Saturday.
Akinbiyi confirmed that the accident involved three individuals, leaving two with injuries and one dead.
He attributed the cause of the crash to reckless driving by the Honda Accord’s driver.
Detailing the incident, the TRACE spokesperson said, “A fatal road crash occurred along the Oru – Ijebu Igbo road near DePotter College of Health in Ijebu North LGA. The Vehicles involved are a HONDA Accord with no registration number and a TVS motorcycle with registration number JBD 142 VZ.”
Quoting an eyewitness, Akinbiyi further explained that the accident resulted from the Honda Accord driver’s careless driving.
“Three persons were involved in the accident. Two persons sustained varying degrees of injuries while one person died,” he added.
The injured victims were transported to Ijebu-Igbo General Hospital for medical care, while the deceased’s body was placed in the hospital’s morgue.
