One person died and three others sustained varying degrees of injuries in accidents that occurred in different parts of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday and Monday.
According to The PUNCH, the accidents was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe.
The PPRO said that one person died, while three people were injured in different accidents involving seven persons along the expressway.
Okpe said, “I can confirm that one person died in an accident around Conoil axis of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway which was caused by speeding and loss of control. The accident which involved a Man-diesel truck with registration number LSR472XA, happened around 1825hrs yesterday.
“Also, three persons were injured in an accident involving three vehicles along the Makun area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. A total of six persons were involved in this accident that happened early this morning.
“It involved a Long Truck with registration number T-13690LA, a Tipper truck with registration number AAA136YC and a Cabstar vehicle.”
She noted that the remains of the dead person had been deposited at the morgue while the injured victims had been taken to hospital for treatment.
“The body of the dead person has been deposited at the Idera morgue in Sagamu while the injured persons have been taken to hospital for treatment”, she concluded.
