Super Falcons and Barcelona striker, Asisat Oshoala, did not make the list for the 2022 Ballon d’Or awards.

According to The Punch, Oshoala who is the first African woman to ever get nominated for the prestigious award was among the 20-woman list nominated for the 2022 Women’s Ballon d’Or
The Barcelona striker had before her nomination at the Ballon d’Or won the CAF Women’s Player of The Year for the fifth time last month, beating Perpetua Nkwocha’s four-time win record.
She is the only African to have won the CAF Player of The Year both in the male and female categories five times.
Despite injuries, Osoala was at her best during the last season, putting her Spanish team in the win with her numerous goals.
The Lagos-born Super Falcons star finished as the Spanish topflight league’s top scorer, netting 20 goals in 19 games, tied with Madrid CFF’s Geyse Ferreira.
She again made record as the first African woman to win the Pichichi, following her fantastic performance during the last season.
