The Federal Road Safety Corps, Osun Command, have deployed about 1,222 personnel across the state to control the free-flow of traffic during the Eid-el-fitr celebrations.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Osun Sector Commander, Mr Henry Benamesia, made this known in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi, made available to journalists in Osogbo on Friday.
Benamesia stressed that the state officers and marshals had been deployed to some flashpoints in the state to ensure adequate control of traffic and also clear any obstructions,
He noted that the officers from the command would be in charge of the traffic throughout the festive period due to heavy vehicular movements.
“Our men shall be on the ground physically at some flash points from now till when the festive period ends in order to ensure the safety of lives and properties.
“We shall continue our enlightenment campaigns in order to sensitise road users on the need to drive safely during and after the celebrations,” Benamesia said.
