Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has officially signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law, approving a budget of N427 billion.
The signing ceremony took place on Monday at the Exco Lounge of the Governor’s Office, attended by members of the State Executive Council and the legislative arm.
The budget, dubbed the “Budget of Growth and Sustainable Development,” was praised by Governor Adeleke, who acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Osun State House of Assembly and his cabinet.
Highlighting the significance of the event, the governor stated, “We are here to further demonstrate our readiness to forge ahead in the New Year with the growth and development of our dear State. For record purposes, the budget I am signing today is titled ‘Budget of Sustainable Growth and Transformation.’ The total sum for the 2025 budget is N427,746,925,170.”
Adeleke instructed all ministries, departments, and agencies to focus on effective implementation to ensure the budget serves the people of Osun State.
“Our budget performance must continue to be commendable on a quarterly basis,” he added.
He further tasked the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget, and Development with overseeing the implementation process to achieve set goals.
The governor assured the state’s residents of his commitment to executing the budget as planned.
The Osun State House of Assembly had earlier approved the bill, raising the proposed amount from N390 billion to N427 billion by adding N37 billion before passing it.
