Erelu Ngozi Adeleke, wife of the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has sought a healthy working relationship with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons against gender-based violence and child trafficking in the state.
Adeleke solicited the pact during a visit to the NAPTIP, Osun Zonal Command in Osogbo on Wednesday.
“My aim for visiting is to seek a robust relationship with NAPTIP in respect of the upcoming sixteen-days activism campaign against gender-based violence which will begin on Saturday, November 25.
“Waging war against the life threatening act of gender-based violence needs collaborative efforts of all and sundry,” she said.
Responding, the Zonal Commander of NAPTIP, Ajiegwu Chinedu, while lauding the efforts of the Osun governor’s wife for taking up the responsibility of freeing Osun from all forms of violence against humanity, maintained that NAPTIP is always ready to collaborate with both government and Non-Governmental Organisations, to make the society safe.
“We have had a series of atrocities such as organ harvesting, human trafficking, among others, being perpetrated by unscrupulous elements before the establishment of NAPTIP,” he said.
The Osun NAPTIP boss warned hoodlums to steer clear of the state, stating that the long arm of the law will catch up with anyone caught in the act of human trafficking and engaging in gender-based violence.
