The Oyo State Government has suspended Chief Kilani Ajani as the Baale of Ilua in Saki West Local Government Area of the state.
His suspension was contained in a letter addressed to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Olusegun Olayiwola.
According to the letter, Chief Ajani was recommended for suspension based on a letter from the Oyo State Solid Minerals Development Agency.
Chief Ajani’s suspension was premised on his activities, which have allegedly caused unrest and political strife within Ilua and Gbepakan communities.
The suspension, which was approved by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, is to prevent the crisis in the communities from festering and to allow a fair investigation into the allegations against Chief Ajani.
The letter, from the Attorney-General/Commissioner for Justice, Biodun Aikomo, stated that Chief Ajani was recommended for suspension based on a letter from the Oyo State Solid Minerals Development Agency.
