The Oyo State Government has announced plans to hire 791 new civil servants, marking the largest recruitment into its mainstream service in two decades.
Alhaji Kamoru Aderibigbe, Chairman of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission, revealed this on Wednesday in Ibadan during a press briefing.
He explained that the recruitment drive will include 230 education officers, with the remaining 561 positions open across other sectors of the civil service.
“This is a significant recruitment exercise for Oyo State, the highest in the past 20 years,” Aderibigbe noted.
Prospective applicants are required to submit their applications online via the state’s job portal, www.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng, from October 7 to October 11.
According to Aderibigbe, this digital process will ensure transparency and fairness throughout the recruitment.
He added, “Applicants for positions requiring degrees must hold at least a second-class honours from a university, while those applying for Higher National Diploma (HND) positions must have a minimum of lower credit. All candidates must also present their NYSC discharge or exemption certificates.”
For teaching positions, Aderibigbe stated that candidates with a Nigeria Certificate in Education must have at least a merit.
“We are committed to ensuring a fair and merit-based process without any political interference,” he assured, emphasizing that the commission would maintain high standards in the recruitment process.
