The founder and senior pastor of New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations, Jerry Eze, has responded to comments made by media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, regarding a miracle that took place during his United Kingdom Prayer Conference.
The event, which captured significant attention online, involved an 8-year-old girl reportedly suffering from cerebral palsy.
The girl, who had been confined to a wheelchair, allegedly stood up and walked for the first time during the prayer session.
The girl’s family, overwhelmed with joy, celebrated by running around the field, praising the miraculous occurrence.
Daddy Freeze, known for his critical stance on religious matters, quickly took to social media to share his thoughts on the event.
He referred to the miracle as “weak” and issued a challenge to Pastor Jerry Eze, urging him to perform more significant acts, such as raising the dead.
In a bold statement, he mentioned the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, the legendary Onyeka Onwenu, and the comic actor Mr. Ibu, who he claimed were either in morgues or graves, as examples of individuals Pastor Eze should attempt to resurrect.
Daddy Freeze remarked, “You are showing us weak miracles when ONYEKA, Junior Pope, IBU, and Mohbad are either in morgues or graves….We can never have sense, no be curse.”
The incident sparked widespread discussion across social media platforms, with users divided between those who praised the miracle and those who questioned its authenticity.
Skeptics accused Pastor Eze of staging the event, particularly questioning why such miracles were not more commonly witnessed in Nigeria.
In response, Eze addressed his congregation without directly engaging with his critics.
He emphasized his focus on his spiritual mission rather than getting involved in public disputes.
Eze made it clear that he would not be drawn into responding to detractors, stating, “Listen NSSPDiers, you will never see this man here reply to anybody. I do not have that kind of time, I do not have the time. There are more important things to do for God.”
He dismissed the allegations of a staged miracle as baseless, pointing out the implausibility of such claims.
“Look at the so-called arranged miracle. So, she was never in a wheelchair? Look at the parents,” Eze commented, highlighting the absurdity of the accusations and reaffirming his dedication to his spiritual mission.
Jerry Eze, who founded Streams of Joy International in 2013 in Abia State, Nigeria, has seen his church expand to over 13 branches worldwide.
His ministry has garnered a significant following both domestically and internationally, with many drawn to his fervent style of preaching and the reported miracles associated with his services.
