Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri on Saturday, presented a staff of office to the newly-crowned king of Tarakiri, HRM (Dr.) Seiyifa Koroye, Tarakiri-Owei VIII, Pere of Tarakiri, Bayelsa State.
Governor Diri disclosed this in a post on his X handle on Saturday evening.
According to the governor, a delegation of the state government also witnessed the coronation and presentation of the staff of office to the new king.
However, he expressed happiness for being part of the ceremony, which took place at Tarakiri kingdom in Bayelsa state, which is the maternal home of the Governor.
“Congratulations to the people of Tarakiri Kingdom and our new King, HRM (Dr.) Seiyifa Koroye, Tarakiri-Owei VIII, the Pere of Tarakiri Clan.
“I led a government delegation to the Ebedebiri community, the traditional headquarters of the Tarakiri Clan, where a short while ago, I presented the Staff of Office to the new King.
“I am happy to be part of the ceremony in the Kingdom, being my maternal home and where I am also a Chief,” he tweeted.
