Commuters were left stranded in a heavy gridlock on Tuesday after a trailer was overturned along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to The PUNCH, the trailer was seen in a tumbled position on the Kara bridge, preventing the free flow of traffic, and leading to a backlog from the Kara bridge to the Otedola area of Lagos State.
A team of the Federal Road Safety Corps was already at the scene to salvage the situation.
But as of the time of filing this report, the traffic on the road from Berger was a point of concern for many commuters as some passengers were already seen alighting from commercial buses to find alternatives.
A source in the FRSC, who spoke with our correspondent noted that the incident happened this morning, adding that the Lagos team of the FRSC were being drafted to the scene.
The source in the FRSC further told our correspondent that the accident was as a result of speeding, compounded by the narrowed lanes on the road, adding that the incident occurred around 6:40 am.
