Football fans and other sports lovers have continued to debate the viral clips of Lionel Messi’s bodyguard stopping a pitch invader from accessing the world cup winner in Inter Miami last game.
In images obtained by PUNCH METRO, the bodyguard identified as Yassine Chueko was seen grabbing the invading fan from the back during the game against LAFC.
It was reported that Chueko was appointed by Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham to secure Messi.
Chueko is a former US Army man, he also served as a Navy Seal in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The former army man has become the shadow of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner. And it has become apparently difficult to meet Messi as no one can escape Chueko.
According to reports, the former Navy Seal’s job extends beyond protecting the Argentine during games, as he accompanies the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner outside of the stadium. The reports also state that Cheuko leads a team of around 50 people who monitor every aspect of the former PSG superstar’s life.
A tweep identified as @John Smit, while reacting to the incident tweeted, “Bro his taking his job too seriously”.
Another tweep @Tomas Haaland tweeted, “Damn Messi knows everyone is there just to watch him and he didn’t even try to hug the kid…that’s your league ambassador?”.
While @Zac Ethron tweeted, “Whoa… he actually made contact?! That’s scary. That’s there end of the MLS if that happens to Messi and he has a knife.”
