Families and friends of the late Bamise Ayanwola gathered admist tears as the remains of the deceased was buried at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, in Lagos State.
It would be recalled that the late 22-year-old fashion designer was declared missing on Saturday, February 26, 2022, after boarding a Bus Rapid Transit vehicle from Lekki to the Oshodi area of the state around 7 pm, and was found dead some days after.
She was reportedly found with some body parts missing upon discovery.
A BRT driver, Andrew Ominnikoron, is facing counts of conspiracy, rape and murder over Ayanwola’s death.
The bus driver was said to be transporting the victim to a destination in Oshodi when Oluwabamise noticed him refusing to pick up other passengers on the road.
She reportedly informed one of her coworkers, Felicia Omolara, of her suspicions, and was advised to disembark from the bus.
The suspect however later claimed that he had nothing to do with the fashion designer’s death and was only following the abductors’ instructions when he and Bamise were held hostage on the bus.
Reacting to the development, many Nigerians while sympathizing with the family of the deceased stated that they hope justice would eventually be delivered regarding the case.
