The ESPS “Audaz”, a warship of Spanish origin, has arrived at the port of Lagos State.
According to The PUNCH, it was gathered that the warship visited with the aim of strengthening military relations between Nigeria and Spain, as well as facilitating defence diplomacy.
An official statement released on Wednesday, the ESPS “Audaz” docked at the Lagos port on May 13th, with the intention of showcasing the Spanish government’s dedication towards ensuring the safety and security of the Gulf of Guinea.
It also added that this is the second occasion that the ESPS “Audaz” will visit Lagos “since its departure from Spain four months ago.”
It added that “during this period, 18.000 nautical miles have been steamed by the warship. During the four-day port visit, several military cooperation activities were carried out.”
