Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has announced the dissolution of the 17 Local Government Transition Implementation Committee Chairmen, effective 6th September 2024.
According to The PUNCH, this decision was communicated through a statement released on Friday night.
The committees, initially established on 9th June 2023 with a six-month mandate, had their tenures extended multiple times until their termination on Friday.
Mutfwang’s statement, issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr. Gyang Bere, appointed the Directors of Personnel Management in the 17 Local Government Areas to oversee local government administration until the elections on 9th October 2024.
The statement read, “Governor Mutfwang commended the Transition Committee Chairmen for their exemplary leadership and dedication to advancing developmental projects that have directly impacted their communities.
“He expressed pride in their accomplishments and urged them to continue offering valuable counsel to promote peace and unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Plateau State.”
The Governor also encouraged the outgoing chairmen to work closely with their communities to ensure the PDP’s success in the upcoming local government elections.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Plateau State for their steadfast support, highlighting that the results of the PDP primaries for chairmanship and councillorship positions reflect the strong bond between the people and the party.
Mutfwang reiterated his dedication to an inclusive, transparent, and accountable administration that prioritizes the needs of all Plateau citizens.
