The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 19 individuals in connection with a violent cult clash that claimed four lives in Owo town, Owo Local Government Area, on Monday.
Following the deadly confrontation between two rival cult groups, the state government imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew to restore peace in the community.
Speaking during a visit to the area on Tuesday, the state Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, revealed that the suspects were apprehended as part of efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“We have arrested 19 individuals in connection with the cult clash, and I can assure you that normalcy has returned to the community,” Afolabi said.
The police chief also reassured residents of heightened security measures to prevent further violence while urging them to report any suspicious activities.
