The Kaduna State Police Command has announced the arrest of 523 suspects for various crimes, including kidnapping, cattle rustling, and phone snatching, between October and November 2024.
Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Abdullahi disclosed this during a press briefing at the Command’s headquarters in Kaduna on Monday.
Highlighting the Command’s achievements, Abdullahi revealed that the arrests also led to the recovery of significant arms and ammunition, including five AK-47 rifles, two pistols, one submachine gun, 283 rustled cows, and 105 rounds of live ammunition.
In addition, 102 kidnapped victims were rescued in various operations across the state.
Abdullahi, who assumed office on October 21, 2024, as Kaduna State’s 44th Commissioner of Police, attributed the successes to proactive strategies such as community engagement and collaboration with other security agencies.
“These strategies have yielded impressive results, thanks to the dedication and professionalism of our officers,” he said.
According to the Commissioner, the arrested suspects include 26 kidnappers, 12 cattle rustlers, 97 phone snatchers, 17 car thieves, and 10 rape suspects, among others.
Over 350 of these arrests were made during targeted raids on criminal hotspots across the state, a key part of the Command’s intensified operations as the year-end “ember months” approach.
Abdullahi also highlighted several high-profile achievements, including the arrest of a notorious kidnapper and four members of a kidnapping syndicate, the recovery of a submachine gun, and the apprehension of a suspected gun runner.
In an operation on November 24, police foiled a kidnapping attempt, rescuing 89 victims and recovering a fabricated AK-47 rifle and five rounds of live ammunition.
Other notable operations included the recovery of charms used by a cattle rustling gang and the arrests of two suspected tricycle thieves.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, reiterated this commitment, urging residents to provide timely information to aid the police in tackling crime effectively.
The Command emphasized its dedication to maintaining law and order and encouraged citizens to remain vigilant as collaborative efforts with security agencies continue to address criminal activities in the state.
