The Kaduna State Police Command has announced the arrest of a suspect linked to the vandalism of railway tracks, seizing 100 pieces of rail tracks in the process.
Spokesperson for the State Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, informed newsmen about the development on Saturday in Kaduna.
Hassan said the arrest was made following a reliable intelligence report received around 1:30 a.m. on May 20.
The suspect, identified as Naim Mikaila, a resident of Kajuru in Kaduna State, was apprehended with 100 pieces of railway tracks in his possession.
“During interrogation, Mikaila was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the possession of these items, leading to the suspicion that they were stolen property,” the PPRO said.
He said that the State Commissioner of Police, Ali Dabigi, has called on all citizens to stay alert and report any suspicious activities or individuals to the police.
“The suspect will be charged to court soon to face the full weight of the law,” Mr. Hassan concluded.
