The operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command successfully neutralized two suspected armed robbers in a recent operation around Capital Hub in Jahi, Abuja.
The operation, carried out on July 22, resulted in the arrest of two additional suspects and the recovery of two cars believed to have been stolen from unsuspecting residents.
Spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, detailed that the operatives, while on crime prevention patrol, encountered a group of four armed men attempting to snatch a black Prado Jeep from its owner.
Upon sighting the police, the assailants opened fire, leading to a gun duel. The police overpowered the criminals, killing two suspects and arresting Joshua Godfrey A.K.A. Dogo and Abdulsalam Mamuda, both from Mabushi village.
Adeh stated, “The two arrested suspects subsequently led police operatives to the recovery of another red Toyota Corolla car with Reg. No. RBC 743 AH, which must have been snatched from an innocent resident.”
She added that a blue Toyota Matrix operational vehicle with Reg. No. BWR 626 JB, belonging to the suspects, was also recovered, along with arms, a cutlass, dagger, scissors, and mobile phones.
The swift and decisive action of the FCT police operatives underscores their commitment to crime prevention and the safety of the residents.
