The Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended three individuals suspected of being involved in an armed robbery that took place on September 2, 2024, in Dutse Local Government Area.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Adam, identified the suspects as Sanusi Usman, 25, Amir Musa, 21, and Yasir Yusuf, 19.
The arrests followed a report by a motorcyclist, Suleman Umar, who claimed that his motorcycle had been stolen by unidentified assailants.
According to the police, the suspects allegedly robbed Umar at gunpoint and escaped to the Kwanar Huguma area of Kano State.
A patrol team from the Dutse Division later intercepted Sanusi Usman with the stolen motorcycle.
“During interrogation, Usman confessed to the crime and named his accomplices, leading to their arrest,” Adam stated.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects had committed similar robberies in Dutse and Shuwarin town, Kiyawa Local Government Area.
