The Nigerian Correctional Service has announced the appointment of Ibrahim Usman as the new Controller of Corrections for the Federal Capital Territory Command.
This appointment was made by the Controller-General of the NCoS, Haliru Nababa.
Usman takes over from Francis John, who has been reassigned to the Kaduna State zonal headquarters.
In a statement released on Friday by the NCoS FCT Command spokesperson, Adamu Duza, John expressed his appreciation to the FCT Command personnel for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure, describing his time as “memorable.”
He also expressed confidence in Usman’s ability to lead the FCT Command to new heights.
In his remarks, Usman praised his predecessor’s “exemplary performance” and requested John’s continued support. He also encouraged all staff to strictly adhere to professional ethics.
Usman, who began his career with the service in 1990, has held leadership roles in fourteen custodial centers across the Nigerian Correctional Service.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the Controller of Corrections in charge of Operations at the National Headquarters.
