Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, has made it clear that his top priority this season is securing the Premier League title, placing it above the Champions League.
Speaking to TNT Sports, in an interview shared by sports journalist Fabrizio Romano on X, Salah expressed his firm resolve.
“I want to win the Premier League title more than the Champions League this year. I really want it, as a team we want it,” said the Egyptian star.
Salah also reflected on his outlook regarding personal accolades, emphasizing his internal drive to excel.
“Best in the world? It’s tricky! People have different preferences… I always see myself as the best and I want to give my best for the team,” he stated.
The forward offered high praise for Liverpool manager Arne Slot, commending his approach to the game.
“Before I worked with Arne Slot, I didn’t expect he was this good… then we started working and I’m not surprised at all! He’s great with details, great with small things, doesn’t have ego when he makes a mistake… he’s great on tactics,” Salah said, applauding Slot’s leadership style.
When discussing his vote for Vinicius Jr. as the best player in the world, Salah explained his reasoning.
“Vinicius Jr is a very good player, that’s why! He’s improving every year and hopefully he can continue… I voted for him because he deserves it,” he explained.
Salah also revealed the player who inspired him the most in his career, identifying the legendary Brazilian striker Ronaldo Nazario as his football idol.
“My idol? Ronaldo Nazario,” he said, acknowledging the impact of the iconic forward on his journey.
