Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is exploring a partnership with a prominent Turkish construction company, Summa Group, over the development of the Lekki-Epe International Airport project.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of the proposed airport for the state’s future.
He said, “This project will drastically enhance connectivity within Lagos and significantly alleviate the pressure on Murtala Mohammed International Airport.”
During the visit, the governor and his team were given an in-depth tour of Summa Group’s operations by Selim Bora, Chairman of Summa International Construction Inc.
Sanwo-Olu commented on the company’s expertise, noting that “Summa has a solid track record in delivering major infrastructure projects, and their commitment to excellence was evident throughout the visit.”
Reflecting on the potential partnership for the project, Sanwo-Olu stressed the economic benefits the airport would bring.
“This development is set to transform Lagos, not only by creating jobs but by positioning the state as a premier destination for international travel and commerce. We are keen on partnering with the best to bring this vision to life.”
