The Upper House of the National Assembly is reportedly holding a closed-door meeting to sort out modalities on how to screen ministerial nominees expected to be unveiled by Senate President Godswill Akpabio any time from now.
The Senate converged shortly after Akpabio led principal officers into the and commenced proceedings for the day.
Akpabio is expected to read President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ministerial list believed to have been transmitted to him in the early hours of this morning.
Reports revealed that the procession of presiding and principal officers arrived the chambers at 12.10am. After the prayer was said and yesterday’s votes and proceedings were adopted, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele moved that the Senate do now resolved into an executive session.
The motion was seconded by the Minority Leader, Simon Mwadkwon.
Expectations are high that Akpabio will official read the communication of President Tinubu containing his ministerial nominees as soon as Senate come back to plenary.
