No fewer than seven persons, on Wednesday, escaped death by a whisker when a Lexus RX 350 vehicle rammed into a stationary truck on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to The PUNCH, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Lagos State, Babatunde Farinloye, said the crash was caused by speeding, adding that seven persons were involved in the crash.
He said, “The stationary vehicle developed a mechanical fault. The car that was coming rammed into the vehicle from the rear. It was a case of speeding and impatience.
“Seven people were involved. Five adults and two children, only the driver was injured, no death, but the vehicle was badly damaged. We sent an ambulance there and they were able to get the victim to the hospital.”
A combined team comprising officials of the FRSC and officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority were seen making efforts to remove the vehicles from the road as the Lexus vehicle was stuck under the truck.
Following the crash that occurred around 1pm, emergency responders who stormed the scene, rushed a yet-to-be-identified driver to the hospital for prompt treatment.
The driver of the Lexus vehicle was said to have rammed into the stationary truck around 1pm at the Otedola end of the expressway.
