Former legislator from Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the death of Lagos attorney, Bolanle Raheem, by a trigger-happy police officer by equating the tragic situation with the officers’ mental condition while stationed at the checkpoint with weapons.
He said; , “When a policeman has a bitter quarrel with his wife over money or bills and you send him to the checkpoint with arms, no one is safe; neither the poor in a Bus nor the Rich in a Mercedes.
“Policemen deployed to the Checkpoints need to undergo psychological, drug, alcoholic, and psychiatric tests. So many people have lost their lives in the hands of armed policemen with any of the above disorders”, he added.
The sad incident that led to the death of the pregnant lawyer, Raheem, took place on Christmas day.
