In response to growing concerns over the recent hike in petrol pump prices and fuel shortages, Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has convened an emergency meeting with key stakeholders in the petroleum sector at the State House, Abuja.
Attendees at the meeting included the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Mele Kyari, and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
This meeting follows NNPC Limited’s recent directive to increase fuel prices from an average of ₦617 to ₦897 per litre, sparking a sharp rise in the cost of market goods and transportation.
