Nigerian singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known by his stage name Skales, has expressed frustration with Green Africa Airways following a flight cancellation that reportedly cost him millions of naira.
In a video shared online, the singer accused Nigerian airlines, particularly Green Africa, of treating passengers poorly and taking advantage of them.
Skales explained that he had booked a flight to Akure and arrived at the airport early, completing the check-in process.
However, to his surprise, the flight was abruptly canceled due to the pilot reportedly falling ill.
In his message, the visibly upset artist reflected on the state of customer service in the Nigerian aviation sector, which he believes is failing its passengers.
He said, “@greenafrica_wow! I booked a flight to Akure… I got to the airport early, we checked in and all of a sudden you cancelled the flight because your pilot got sick? This is unbelievable man… I have lost money (I was paid 15 million naira by @seyivodi for f** sake) because of your horrible customer disrespect… so you knew all along that your pilot was sick or is this some sick joke… you waited until it was flight time. I just can’t believe this… this country man gosh… we go see less.”
In his statement, Skales revealed that the cancellation caused him to miss a major event, for which he had already been paid ₦15 million.
He expressed disbelief at the handling of the situation, noting that the airline’s delay in notifying passengers of the pilot’s illness until the last minute was particularly unprofessional.
His frustration reflects the growing dissatisfaction with the poor service delivery often experienced by travelers within Nigeria.
