The All Progressives Grand Alliance has officially cleared Governor Chukwuma Soludo to participate in the upcoming primary election in Anambra State.
This follows the governor’s collection of his expression of interest and nomination forms at the APGA National Secretariat in Abuja.
Governor Soludo, who has received endorsements from various groups and individuals for a second term, was deemed fit for the primary election by the Party’s National Working Committee, led by Ezeokenwa Sly. The primary election is scheduled to take place on April 5, 2025.
Speaking on the development, APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, described it as a significant milestone in the political history of Anambra State. He noted that Governor Soludo has become the first aspirant to seek re-election on the grounds of his proven track record.
“The APGA primary election promises to be a historic event, with over 3,260 delegates set to choose their preferred candidate,” Opara stated. “The Party’s leadership has been praised for its commitment to peaceful and stable politics, with the screening process conducted without any rancour or controversy.”
Opara further expressed confidence in the future of the Party and the state, noting that APGA members and supporters remain optimistic as preparations for the primary election continue. He highlighted the Party’s focus on progressive leadership and solutions-driven governance, emphasizing that APGA is well-positioned to maintain a positive impact in Anambra State.
