The Supreme Court of Nigeria on Thursday, fixed December 15, 2023, to give judgment in the appeals filed by the Federal Government and detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
The court decided on the date, after legal counsel to the Fed Government, Tijani Gazali SAN, and the counsel to Kanu, Mike Ozekhome SAN, made final submissions on the judgement on Thursday, October 5, 2023.
The Federal Government in its suit, wants the court to set aside an earlier judgment by the Court of Appeal, which subdued the treasonable felony charge against the IPOB leader and ordered his release because he was unlawfully brought back to the country after he jumped bail to the United Kingdom.
The Biafra Chief also on his part, wants the court to allow the judgment of the Court of Appeal to set aside the later order by staying the execution of the judgment.
It would be recalled that Kanu was brought back to the country, after jumping bail on his treason felony case
