Sweden’s parliament website has been hit by a cyber attack causing partial disruption and slow access.
A spokesperson for the parliament said that it was a denial-of-service attack that had affected the website’s functionality, making it difficult to view webcasts.
The attack comes as Swedish Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson, and other Nordic leaders are scheduled to meet Ukrainian, President Volodymyr Zelensky, in Finland.
Authorities have warned of increased cyber attacks against Swedish interests, especially after the country’s application for NATO membership following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The spokesperson stated that efforts to restore services were ongoing, but there was no timeline for full functionality.
The incident highlights the increasing threat of cyber attacks worldwide and the need for robust security measures to counter them.
