A pressure group, Wurkum Youth Ambassadors World Wide, has denounced recent violence between the Wurkun and Karimjo populations in Taraba State’s Karim-Lamido local government area.
The group’s spokesperson, Mr. Seth Sule, urged Governor Agbu Kefas to send out more security forces to restore order in the region in a statement.
Additionally, he urged governments to work with security organisations to send out additional security people to the council and the community.
“No fewer than 3,000 people have been displaced while properties, farm crops, and animals worth millions of naira have been destroyed,” he said.
In order to bring progress to the neighbourhood, Sule pushed the rival factions to renounce violence and embrace peace.
According to PUNCH METRO, the police in Taraba acknowledged on Sunday that there had been new fighting between the Wurkun and Karimjo populations in the state’s Karim-Lamido local government region.
The public relations officer, DSP Usman Abdulahi, said, “In the last few days, there have been pockets of guerilla attacks between Karimjo and the Wurkun people in the area”.
