Eight brand-new power transformers were delivered to the Transmission Company of Nigeria, as part of the Nigerian Electricity Transmission Project, which is financed by the World Bank.
In a statement, the company’s general manager for public affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said that two transformers with capacities of 100/125MVA and 132/33kV are remained at the ports while plans are being made to transport six transformers with capacities of 150/187.5MVA and 330/132/33kV.
The transformers, according to her, would be delivered to NETAP projects in Bauchi, Mayo Belwa, Yola, Maiduguri, and Damaturu.
In a statement, the company’s general manager for public affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said that the transformers, which consist of six units totaling 150/187.5MVA, 330/132/33kV power transformers and two units totaling 100/125MVA, 132/33kV power transformers, are still at the ports while plans are being made to move them.
The transformers, according to her, would be delivered to projects in Bauchi, Mayo Belwa, Yola, Maiduguri, and Damaturu.
In a related development, TCN has also revealed that yesterday saw the arrival of another 13 heavy duty trucks loaded with transformer accessories at the Kumbotso 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation in Kano, bringing the total number of trucks that have delivered the accessories for the 300MVA and 100MVA power transformers that will soon arrive at the Kumbotso Transmission Substation to 20.
The Kumbotso Substation, Hadejia, Wudil, and Azare Substations, as well as the DanAgundi, Hadejia, and Azare Substations, are the five substations that the 300MVA is intended to increase bulk electricity to, according to TCN.
