The presidency has said that the security agencies of the country have a tight grip on the nation’s security situation.
Daily Trust reported that the assettion was made at a three-day strategic communication conference for state commandants and public relations officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, which began on Wednesday in Abuja, the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), Femi Adesina.
In order to warn the Federal Capital Territory of impending threats, the United States, the United Kingdom, and a few other nations had issued a security notice.
Nevertheless, according to Adesina, “our security agencies have a firm control of the security situation in Nigeria.”
He stated, “Insecurity is not gone but it’s not rising,” refuting the assertion that it was increasing in the nation.
The presidential spokesman emphasized the requirement that public relations practitioners be professionals, noting that the growing importance of social media makes it tougher now to bury a story.
The Department of State Services spokesman, Peter Afunaya, cautioned Nigerians to beware of the onslaught of false information ahead of the general elections in 2023 in his goodwill message.
