President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the Director of Energy Security in the Office of the National Security Adviser.
This role will lead the newly established Energy Security Directorate, which focuses on coordinating policies, safeguarding energy infrastructure, and building strategic partnerships within Nigeria’s energy sector.
The announcement made by the Head of Strategic Communications for ONSA Zakari Mijinyawa, emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring a stable and secure energy supply for the nation.
“This appointment reflects President Tinubu’s determination to bolster energy security and address concerns within the supply chain,” Mijinyawa noted.
As Director, Amachree will be responsible for overseeing national initiatives aimed at improving energy security, fostering community involvement in protecting resources, and working toward long-term energy sustainability.
“He will collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, regulators, security forces, and international partners, to address both immediate and future challenges in Nigeria’s energy sector,” Mijinyawa added.
Amachree, who holds degrees in Management and is an alumnus of Lagos Business School, brings extensive experience to the role.
The National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, congratulated him on the new appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the new directorate effectively.
