President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, where leaders are set to address critical issues impacting the Middle East.
According to a post on NTA X handle, the presidential aircraft touched down at King Abdulaziz International Airport around 10 a.m. local time.
Tinubu was welcomed by a delegation headed by Prince Mohammed Abdurrahman, Riyadh’s Deputy Governor.
The summit, convened at the invitation of Saudi King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is scheduled to begin Monday, November 11, 2024.
According to Presidential Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s participation will include a call for peace amid the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict.
“Nigeria remains steadfast in its appeal for an immediate ceasefire and a renewed commitment to peace in the Middle East,” Onanuga stated, emphasizing that Tinubu will advocate for the revival of a two-state solution as a means to a lasting resolution.
