President Bola Tinubu has congratulated D’Tigress for a well deserved victory at the 2023 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket in Kigali, Rwand.
Tinubu took to his official Twitter handle to pen down the congratulatory message.
He wrote “I congratulate our very own D’Tigress @DtigressNG for a well deserved fourth consecutive AfroBasket Women Championship. We are proud of you.”
Nigeria’s female basketball team, D’Tigress, on Saturday, defeated Senegal to win the 2023 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Championship for the fourth consecutive time at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Rena Wakama- led ladies defeated the 11-time African champions 84-74 to claim their sixth championship at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda on Saturday.
Saturday’s victory by D’Tigress is historic as the Nigerian Ladies have become only the second team ever after Senegal to win four consecutive titles.
