President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Sunday, November 10, for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he is set to participate in the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit.
The summit, organized by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will address pressing issues in the Middle East, including the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict.
According to a statement from Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the summit will begin on Monday, November 11.
Tinubu will attend alongside several top officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris, and National Intelligence Agency Director General Mohammed Mohammed.
During the summit, Tinubu is expected to strongly appeal for peace in the region, urging “an immediate ceasefire” and advocating for the “urgent need for a peaceful resolution.”
He will also call for renewed efforts toward the two-state solution as a means of establishing lasting peace.
The summit marks Tinubu’s third visit to Saudi Arabia and his 30th international trip since taking office 17 months ago. He has logged over 124 days abroad, visiting 16 countries, including trips to the United Kingdom, South Africa, India, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.
