President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja this Saturday for Berlin, Germany, where he will participate in the G20 Compact with Africa Conference on November 20, 2023.
The conference is being hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
“The G20 CwA Conference will be taking place alongside the Fourth G20 Investment Summit, co-hosted by the German government and German business associations,” a statement signed by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, read Friday.
The statement is titled ‘President Tinubu attends G20 ‘Compact with Africa’ conference in Berlin as energy, trade, and investment top agenda.’
At the conference, Tinubu will collaborate with fellow Heads of State and Governments from CwA member nations, bilateral partners, and leaders of International Organizations to discuss and strategize ways to significantly improve economic and business collaboration.
The focus will be on devising specific actions to increase investments in vital sectors like energy, trade, infrastructure, and emerging technologies, among various others.
Ngelale emphasized that the President will continue his efforts to promote foreign direct investment in Nigeria, taking charge of the country’s delegation at the investment summit to actively engage in this endeavor.
The visit is also President Tinubu’s “commitment to diplomatic reciprocity as the invitation to Germany from the German Chancellor is being honoured following the visit of the German Chancellor to Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria, from October 29 to October 30, 2023.”
The Nigerian delegation will build upon successful meetings held earlier with senior members of German business organizations who were part of the official delegation accompanying the German Chancellor during their visit to Nigeria.
The President will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar; the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Mr Wale Edun; the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite; and the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.
